Bearing steel grit is a high-strength, wear-resistant metal abrasive made from high-quality bearing steel (such as GCr15) through precision processes including melting, atomization, quenching, tempering, crushing and screening. With the inherent characteristics of bearing steel—high hardness, excellent toughness and superior wear resistance—it is widely used in high-demand surface treatment fields that require strong impact force and long service life.
Its production process adheres to strict quality control standards to ensure the stability and reliability of the product. First, high-purity bearing steel raw materials are melted at high temperature to form molten steel, which is then atomized into irregular angular particles by high-pressure air or water. After that, the particles undergo strict quenching and tempering treatments to adjust the hardness (usually HRC 58-65) and toughness, ensuring they have strong impact resistance and are not easy to break during use. Finally, the particles are crushed and screened to obtain bearing steel grit with uniform particle size, clear edges and corners, and stable performance. The particle size can be customized according to actual application needs, with a common range of 0.3mm to 3.0mm, suitable for various surface treatment scenarios.
The application scenarios of bearing steel grit focus on high-intensity surface treatment fields, mainly used for strengthening, derusting and deburring of workpieces with high hardness and strict surface requirements. In the machinery manufacturing industry, it is widely used for shot peening strengthening of bearing parts, gears, shafts and other core components, which can improve the surface hardness, fatigue strength and service life of the parts; in the steel structure, shipbuilding and heavy machinery industries, it is used for derusting and cleaning the surface of large workpieces, effectively removing thick oxide scale, rust and dirt, and providing a clean surface for subsequent painting and anti-corrosion treatment. In addition, it is also applicable to the surface treatment of hardware tools, auto parts and other products that require high wear resistance.
Compared with ordinary carbon steel shot, cast iron shot, and stainless steel wire cut shot, bearing steel grit has unique advantages: first, it possesses extremely high hardness and wear resistance, far superior to ordinary abrasives, with a service life 3-5 times that of ordinary carbon steel shot, significantly reducing replacement frequency and production costs; second, it exhibits excellent toughness and impact resistance, maintaining its shape and performance even under high-intensity impact, thus avoiding powdering and breakage; third, its angular structure provides strong cutting force, enabling quick and efficient removal of rust, oxide scale, and burrs, thereby improving surface treatment efficiency; fourth, it is manufactured from high-quality bearing steel, ensuring stable chemical composition, absence of harmful substances, and compliance with modern green production requirements.
